MCP servers
Connect Model Context Protocol servers and their tools become available in every chat.
MCP servers give the model new tools — a database, a design tool, your notes app. Register them in Settings → MCP Servers, then switch each one on or off.
Adding a server
Add Server opens the form. Choose a Transport:
- Stdio (Local Command) — a program on this computer: a Command, its Args (one per row) and optional Environment variables.
- Streamable HTTP (Remote) or SSE (Remote Legacy) — a URL, with
optional Headers such as
{"Authorization":"Bearer …"}.
Give it a Name, optionally a Description and Extra Config, and Register. A new server starts switched off; switch it on and its tools are offered in chat. The page's summary says how many tools from how many servers are active, and each server card can Show tools. The JSON tab shows the whole configuration, read-only.

Secrets in a server's settings
Header values, environment variables and tokens in a URL are saved encrypted
and shown only as ••••. Leave a masked value as it is to keep it. Changing a
server's URL clears its saved headers, and changing its command clears its
environment and masked arguments — Actovia never sends a secret to a program or
address it was not saved for — so enter them again after the change.
A token written into Args is visible to other programs on the computer while the server runs; the form warns about it and suggests an environment variable instead.
In a chat
+ → MCP tools in the composer lists every tool of the servers that are on, with its description. You do not need to pick one: the model sees the list and calls what it needs, and those calls go through the same approval checks as the built-in tools.

Diagrams from draw.io
Diagrams from a draw.io MCP server render as a card in the chat, with Open in draw.io to keep editing there. Actovia only draws the card. The diagrams come from the draw.io MCP server you register, as with any other server.
