Philharmonic

A virtual team — a project manager and employees — that plans, divides and does work for you.

Philharmonic is a second workspace beside Chat: instead of one assistant, you message a group with a project manager (the PM) who breaks your request into a plan, hands the steps to employees, follows their reports and tells you how it went. Switch to it from the sidebar's title: click Chat at the top of the sidebar and choose Philharmonic (and back the same way).

Groups

+ New group, then describe what you need in the composer (Message followed by the group's name). The PM analyses it, recruits the employees it needs from your workforce, writes a plan and delegates. The plan shows as a card with each step's status, and the Members panel lists who is working on what (busy / idle). When the PM needs something from you it asks in the transcript, and you Reply to PM….

Each group has its own working folder for the files its members make. A group can also be pointed at a folder of yours — Open folder…, or New project… to start one — which is where coding agents work.

Decision process

Under each PM message, Decision process opens the record of that round: what triggered it (You wrote or Scheduled), whose reports it read, its thinking, every step it handed out with the instructions it gave, any quota refusal or wait, and the tokens the round used.

“Decision process” opened under a PM message: trigger, reports read, “Gave a step to …” rows and the round's token usage.

Workforce

Workforce is where the team is defined. Every employee belongs to a Team, whose system prompt applies to all its members. An employee has a Name, a Description, its own System prompt on top of the team's, and optionally:

  • Runs on — Actovia (a model of yours) or a coding-agent CLI.
  • Model — its own model, or the app's default.
  • Skills and MCP servers it may use (none selected means all).
  • Memory (read-only) — what it has learned over past work.
Workforce: two teams with their employees, one employee open in the editor (team, runs on, model, skills, MCP servers).

Dashboard

Dashboard is the schedule: what Philharmonic will run next and what runs on a repeat — see Schedules & quotas. Philharmonic counts tokens, not money: a round's usage is in its Decision process.

On iPhone

The iPhone app has Philharmonic too, as the same workspace switch at the top of its sidebar. It is for the part of a long run that needs you while you are away from the desk: follow a group live as the plan ticks and reports arrive, reply to the PM or answer its question, Allow or Deny a coding agent's step, stop a round, and start a new task, photos included. Members, the Dashboard and the Workforce are there to read; setting up employees, teams, schedules and a group's folder stays on the computer.
