Actovia

App lock

A PIN, Touch ID and automatic locking for the desktop app.

The app lock keeps Actovia closed to anyone at your computer. While it is locked, the window is covered and the app answers no requests — not from Quick Chat, the CLI or a phone — except an unlock. Background work (a running research, a scheduled task) carries on.

Setting a PIN

Settings → General → Lock & Privacy: Enter a 6-digit PIN, then Confirm your PIN. Then choose:

  • Unlock with Touch ID (Macs with Touch ID).
  • Auto-lock when idle — Off, 1, 5, 15 or 30 minutes.
  • Lock on app launch.
  • Lock on system sleep.

Lock at any time with File → Lock Now (⌘L). Too many wrong PINs in a row make you wait before trying again. Remove lock turns it off and asks for the current PIN.

Unlocking from elsewhere

A paired iPhone can unlock the computer with its own Face ID, and the CLI with the PIN. See Security.
